Week 9 and 10: Remote 🏝

Welcome to weeks 9 and 10!

Time to read:

β€œRemote" by Jason Fried, David Heinemeier Hansson

Distributed teams are more popular than ever. Many companies lack a central office, focusing instead on hiring the best talent to work remotely. And the coronavirus epidemic looks like the greatest experiment in remote work.

Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson share their opinions on the Future of Work. But these are not predictions, the authors already practice what they preach.

Just 19 pages (or 15 minutes for an audiobook) a day to finish it in 2 weeks :raised_hands:

Hmm I’m curious how well this book has aged. I see it’s from 2013 and things certainly have changed since then.

I’m curious as well, though I’m not aware of any other more recent book that touches the topic.

Do you know any?

And I’m back on track! This one was a quick read and I now have a lot of points to discuss with my future manager to get a buy-in for remote work. :innocent:

@swap, I thought you’re your future manager!

Touche. But I foresee one last gig as an early employee somewhere this year. Then no looking back! :sweat_smile:
