Week 11 and 12: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People ๐Ÿค

Welcome to weeks 11 and 12!

Time to read:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Youโ€™ve probably noticed the cult of personality. All the influencers pulling all the tricks to convince you to buy something they agreed to sell.

But there are people who not only influence but who actually inspire. Instead of having a strong personality, they have a strong character in the first place.

Stephen Coveyโ€™s book teaches us how we can build a similarly strong character. No cheap tricks, no get-rich-quick.

Just 31 pages (or 56 minutes for an audiobook) a day to finish it in 2 weeks :raised_hands:

I avoided this book for the longest time, because the title seemed clickbaity! However, it contains some really great guiding principles for life including the importance of keeping promises, empathy, etc.

Yes, I also enjoyed it very much!

Some of the ideas reminded me of โ€œNon-Violent Communicationโ€. One example of a dialogue touched me really deeply as it was as if hearing my own dialogue with my partner some time ago.

And I loved how the author stressed the importance of doing things that are important but not urgent. I often find myself guilty in that regards :frowning:

Agreed, the first part seemed like a summary of GTD and the second one of NVC.

Yet, it predates them both by at least a decade
